EDUCATIONAL SIMPLICITY 1 Meaning Clusters What degree of simplicity do we need in education? Students must focus on learning rather than listening to the teacher talk. Variety scatters student thoughts. It clutters their minds with meaningless information. Disorganized presentations disengage students. They are too busy learning new instructions instead of new material. Students need a consistent structure and clarity. Random stimuli already fill many children’s lives. Teach children more effectively by only changing the information. Let computers handle the complex task of delivering the information. Let teachers handle the simple task of deciding what the students need to learn.
