INSTRUCTIONS PETERSON READING 4-4-4: 3 Meaning Phrases Students chorus along with a recording that pronounces each meaning phrase. Students copy and/or trace the printed phrases for the next eight repetitions. Students hear and speak each phrase twelve times: 4 times chorusing aloud 8 times with inner speech Students gradually learn the letter and word sounds
in meaningful contexts. Successes encourage them to try new sounds. Students learn meaningful phrases
that comprise 90 percent of our language. Students read with the recording at normal speaking speeds, rather than slow “sound it out” techniques. There are few baby words. This is real reading. Students immediately feel they are readers, and they are. |
