DEFINITION OF TERMS: 2CHORUSING: Rapidly repeating phrases three or four times with a recording. The 4-peat providesa correct pronunciation model. Students get four chancesto match their voices to the recording. Most students hit a 90% correct levelby the fourth chorusing try. This reduces anxietyabout verbal ability. TELL-BACK: Orally relate (tell-back) the content of a reading to a partner. Practice speaking skills.Must be doneimmediately after a readingbefore memory decay. Use memory trigger or memory pattern notesas a guide. Include as much detailas can be recalled. If students run outof things to sayrepeat the tell-back. |
